Fruit company Dole teams with Piñatex to turn pineapple waste into vegan leather

The world’s largest producer of fruit and vegetables has announced a partnership with London based plant based materials disrupter Ananas Anam which will use waste pineapple leaf fibres to create the vegan leather Piñatex.

The collaboration is part of Dole’s commitment to achieve zero fruit loss by 2025, and enables Ananas Anam to meet increasing demand for Piñatex, not only in fashion products, but also in the car and upholstery industries.
