BBC News reports the findings from the latest Mintel fashion and sustainability report. Following the trend for British people to eat less meat, the report found the the trend is also moving into other aspects of our lives, finding that animal welfare came top of a list of issues that people said they considered before buying clothes.
And high street retailers have noticed this trend, labelling items as vegan is now seen as a positive development.
Figures from The Vegan Society confirms this trend, with 119 fashion products registered with the vegan trademark in 2018, compared to 1,956 in 2019.
